Understanding the Alternatives in the Collateral Liquidation Process

The collections process is complicated. Accordingly, understanding the various options that are available to a lender is important. By gaining an understanding of the implications of the liquidation process, a lender can be in the best position to understand the benefits and potential short comings of a short sale. Further, it is important for a lender to understand the correct procedure for the collateral liquidation process, both for real and personal property, to ensure that the lender may maintain a claim for a deficiency judgment against its borrower. This "must attend" session will overview and explain the default process and collateral liquidation through obtaining a deficiency judgment, including the potential tax implications which may dictate the best course of action for both the lender and its borrower.

  • Properly declaring a default - if you don't do it right it could cost you
  • Workouts - the benefits for both the lender and the borrower
  • Does a short sale make dollars and cents for a lender
  • Collateral liquidation - foreclosure is not the only way
  • Deficiency judgments - a better understanding of what use to be an easy process
  • Tax implications in the collections process
This informative session is useful for loan officers, loan operations personnel, credit administration and bank officers as it is a cost-effective way to learn or review the collections, workout and deficiency litigation process. You may train as many individuals as you like for one set price. There will be no travel costs, time lost from work and no one will be required to leave your office.
