Customers ask HSA questions at every stage of the life of an HSA. It's your job to identify the apparently innocent question as one that has some lurking complexity. You then need to answer it relatively quickly without undue liability exposure. This webinar will give you the knowledge and tools to help you accomplish that goal. Some of the key questions covered include the following.

Stage 1 - Eligibility. How does Social Security impact my eligibility? Can I have an HRA and an HSA? How does VA coverage impact my HSA? My 25 year old son is on my insurance, is he eligible for an HSA? Does a corporate wellness program disqualify me for an HSA? What about an on-site clinic? What happens when I lose eligibility?

Stage 2 - Establishment. What is a family HSA? What is my establishment date? Why is the establishment date important? Can my nanny be an authorized signer? Can I name a trust as a beneficiary? Is it better to name my spouse as a beneficiary? How much time do I have to establish my HSA?

Stage 3 - Contributions. What's my HSA contribution limit? What if I have a family plan and my wife also makes contributions? What if I only started my plan in July? What's the "testing period?" What if I change from a self-only HDHP to a family mid-year? What if I turn 55 this year? 65? When does a contribution have to be pro-rated? How should I split the contribution with my spouse? What if I accidently put in too much? Can I contribute to my child's HSA?

Stage 4 - Distributions. What are eligible medical expenses? Can I use my HSA to pay for my dependent parent's care? What about my 25 year old child who is still on my insurance but not a dependent? Is mileage eligible? Marijuana? Weight loss programs? Gym membership? Concierge medicine programs? A new bathroom? Insurance premiums?

Stage 5 - Taxes. How do I get the tax breaks? How much do I save? How does an employer report HSA contributions? How does a custodian fix a mistaken distributions? Mistaken contribution? Failed testing periods?
